Newsletter 21 May 2019

Greetings Delightful Montessori Families,

It’s hard to believe that this is the last full week of the 2018-2019 school year. As the year winds down, it’s good to reflect on all the learning/accomplishments the class has had.  There have been multiple ‘ah ha’ moments and many thoughtful questions that have led me to personal research and/or reflection.  It might be a good time to chat with our kiddo(s) about what they will take away from this school year.  You might be surprised at their responses.

This week we will have our final STAR make-ups, which means no more assessments for the year after this.  I’m proud of all the students for doing their best and, in some cases, wanted to try again because they feel they can do better.  We will also get two Etiquette Eats this week due to the busy schedule we had last week.

Tomorrow we get to go on our Mount Helena Wildflower Hike.  For the first time since I’ve been here there is rain in the forecast.  Please be sure your kid(s) come prepared for chilly, wet weather tomorrow.  Have them bring lots of layers.  We will be going rain or shine and I’d like everyone to have the best experience possible.  If you’ve been out hiking you know that we are getting lots of great wildflowers blooming, so it should be a blast.

Finally,  the students are spending much of the week preparing for their student-led conferences next week.  If you haven’t gotten your conference slip back to the me please return it ASAP.  That way I can make any adjustments needed, thanks.

Thanks for reading.  As always, if you have any questions please let me know.

Cheers,

Tony
