Newsletter 8 October 2019

Greetings Adventurous Montessori Families,

I hope you are all prepared for our second blast of cold.  Due to this weather we had to postpone our Water Watchers field trip.  Rather than go tomorrow, where it is going to be 4 degree Fahrenheit at Rimini, we will go on 24 October.  If it’s too cold that day, we’ll adjust to an indoor field trip, so let think warm thoughts.

Today, the intermediate grade classrooms went on their field trip.  This meant that the FLS adaptive PE class needed more help.  We went as an entire class and played with all of our wonderful FLS students.  I was so proud of your kids, they were helpful, patient and kind.  When we got back to the classroom I let them know how wonderful they all were and many said they miss their ‘buddy’ already.  I just thought you should be reminded of what you already know, your kids are fantastic.

In class we are continuing to work on time management and I’m seeing a lot of improvement.  There is still work to be done, so asking you kiddo about their day with questions like what did you learn, or how is your work plan going would be helpful, thanks.

Today we focused on two-column notes during Writer’s Workshop.  Tomorrow we will use those notes to learn to write short constructive responses.  This is going to be a big focus of the year in writing, so I’m looking forward to the process.

Thanks for reading.  As always, if you have any questions please let me know.
